Barrett Reznick
Bear's background started before high school. He was training and competing in the greater Phoenix area, winning several strength competitions, and earned a scholarship to the University of Nevada to play football. During his stint with the Wolf Pack, he was awarded all-WAC honors as a guard, and was also awarded Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the year for the Athletic Department.
When he finished football, he was presented with the opportunity to coach for one of the first 30 CrossFit affiliates in the world. At the time he didn't know much about CrossFit or what to expect. His paradigm of training changed forever when he walked through the doors of that gym.
"I was extremely humbled by my first WOD, 'Fran.' It was nothing like I had experienced before. Even though I was one of the last few people in class to finish the WOD, all the other participants stayed to cheer me on and help me finish the workout. The community in a CrossFit gym is above the rest. I was hooked on CrossFit for life, starting from that moment."
Bear moved back to AZ in 2008 and has continued to stay involved in the community. He has coached and trained at several CrossFit gyms, local chain gyms, and participated in some local fitness competitions. He prides himself on continuing his education beyond his B.S. in Public Health and is constantly evolving his idea of health and wellness. He has held NASM, and CHEK certifications in the past.
